Stomach Flu Diagnosis
- Kawasaki syndrome (a condition usually seen children under 5 that affects the skin, lymph nodes, mouth, and throat)
- Reye's syndrome (a condition that can cause serious damage to the brain and liver)
- Aseptic meningitis
- Hemolytic uremic syndrome (a condition that can cause short-term kidney failure)
- Crohn's disease.
During the medical history and physical exam, the doctor will make sure that these conditions are not present in a person with stomach flu.
