A common symptom that can affect anyone, diarrhea is defined as loose, watery stools that occur more than three times in one day. It is not the occasional loose stool or the frequent passing of formed stools.
 
Several things can cause diarrhea, such as:
 
If treatment is necessary, it may include replacing lost fluids and electrolytes to prevent dehydration. Most people get better on their own, but diarrhea can be serious for babies and older people if lost fluids are not replaced.
