Symptoms of Giardia
Symptoms of Giardia may either begin gradually or develop without warning. They generally occur one to two weeks after initial exposure to the Giardia parasite.
- Diarrhea
- Flatulence or gas
- Abdominal (stomach) pain
- Upset stomach or nausea.
The symptoms of chronic Giardia, a more serious form of the intestinal illness, include:
- Increased gas (flatus)
- Loose stools
- Burping
- Dehydration.
